My Deck Restoration Project

Living in the OC for me means beautiful skies, warm sun, and views that will take your breath away. If there is one place my family and I love to be, I'd have to say it is sitting on our deck enjoying the beautiful California weather. Unfortunately, our deck was beginning to look worn and weathered and I knew I needed to find a company who could restore what was once our beautiful IPE deck.

For me, the hunt was on. Not only did I know that some companies are not as reliable as they sound, but our deck is made with a very exotic wood, IPE. I have learned that not many companies actually know how to care for IPE decks because it is such a relatively new wood type. It's one thing to design and build, but to actually prepare it for the coastal climate we live in is a whole other story.

In California, especially if your home is very near the Pacific coast, you have a lot to think about when it comes to protecting your outdoor deck. From the sun's hot UV rays, moisture, and salt air, your deck can take a direct hit from the climate resulting in a dull, grayed, cracked deck. Trust me, I know.

As I continued to search for the right company, I came upon Teak Master and all of my reservations about choosing the right company for the job subsided. Teak Master has been in business for the past twenty years and their reputation is undeniable. After searching from one company to the next, I finally found a company that specialized in all sorts of deck restoration, even our IPE deck. They have their own techniques, fastenings, coats, and seals for this type of wood that is guaranteed to the stand the test of time.

I reviewed the before and after pictures, listened to the customer testimonials, and I was reassured that Teak Master would be the right fit. After all, let's face it, when you are planning to invest in a part of your home you definitely want to make sure your money is well spent. As I look out at my beautiful, restored deck I know I made the right decision.
